Indian Black Star (Black Diopside)

Blackstar (the Indian name) is actually what in the west is known as black diopside. Black star officially should only refer to Black star saphires, but in India, where it is mined, it is commonly known as blackstar. Most deposits of Star diopside are in Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Praesh and Karnataka.

Black star may have a cats eye quality or a star like quality and all of these stones should be regarded as holy as they are the dwelling places of living spirits and are a link to them 'seeing' into our lives. As such they are intermediaries in helping us increase our abundance on all levels and it is said they help our inner beauty to shine out strongly.

These stones are supposed to increase circulation and help prevent heart problems.

Black star is associated with the Mooladhara Chakra and helps us ground our emotions and bring a connection to mother earth. It improves our physical well being and helps us to be intuitive and to amplify our perception. It brings us calmness and helps disperse our anxieties.
